Taktshang, "The Tiger's Nest," a Tibetan Buddhist hermitage perched on a small cliff-side ledge 3,100 feet above the floor of the Paro Valley. According to legend, the great Tibetan saint Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) landed on this ledge after flying across the Himalaya on the back of a tiger.
